About Davis Volleyball Club

The Davis Volleyball Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and operates in conjunction with the United States Volleyball Association (USVBA) girl's program.  The USVBA divides the USA into 30 regions; one is the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA), in which the DVBC is registered.  The DVBC ihas been in continual operation for over 20 years  with players representing Davis, Woodland, Vacaville, Dixon, and many other smaller communities in Yolo and Solano counties, and from the greater Sacramento area.

The DVBC is run by parent volunteers that serve on the Board of Directors.  The DVBC hires a Director, an Assistant Director, a Financial Administrator, and an Operations Manager, who carry out the detailed duties of the club.  For the 2006 season, the DVBC will field teams participating in the NCVA Power League for the 14's, 16's and 18's age groups; and Area League teams for the 14's.  The DVBC also attends other premier tournaments in Northern California; Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada; and Spokane Washington.

Mission Statement

The Davis Volleyball Club promotes a competitive junior volleyball program for young women, ages 10-18, which provides positive coaching and the development of volleyball skills for all levels of athletes.  The ultimate goal is to help shape healthy and confident young women.

Goals, Vision & Purpose

Ultimately, the DVBC wants the club to be just one important part of the players youth experience that help them become confident and happy adult women.  To accomplish this goal, the DVBC expects:

*Its players and coaches to participate with positive and constructive attitudes in developing volleyball skills.

*Its players and coaches to constantly gauge each players growth in technical ability, positive team focus and  competitive team play.

Success is measured by the growth of competitiveness of the entire team, and the entire club, thus each player's contribution on the court, in matches and practices, is important and valued.  In this manner, the DVBC will provide a meaningful competitive volleyball experience.
