Information on the History of Davis, California
The primary purpose of this web site is to present information on the history of Davis, California.
This information is presented from two vantage points.
The first vantage point is Davis history as a
whole, as with, for example, population from the start to now.
These and other "history as a whole" aspects are reported in Folder 1,
to the left.
The second is in terms of periods or eras in Davis history. On this site, Davis history is divided into nine periods. These are shown in the folders to the left that begin with the number "2."
________________
This site also has three secondary purposes.
+ Housed in folder 3, to the left, the first of these
secondary purposes is to publish original research on Davis history,
which is, at this time, the Papers on Davis History Series
produced by the Publications Committee of the Davis Historical
Society.
+ The next secondary purpose is to present information
on Davis historic preservation and historical resources (folder
4).
+ Last, materials on the Davis Historical Society are assembled in Folders 5.
