Add your voice to the rising chorus for smart planning!

On January 16, 2008, the owners of the Westlake Plaza Shopping Center in Davis asked the Davis Planning Commission to give them an exemption to local zoning laws so that they could convert most a vacant supermarket space to office space. The Planning Commission denied the request, but the owners indicated they would appeal to the full City Council.

In response, the Davis Advocates for Neighborhood Groceries (DANG) has been circulating a petition urging the City Council also to deny the request. So far, more than 700 signatures of Davis residents have been gathered, and more are coming in all the time.
