Rose & Flower Garden
The south end of Central Park Gardens was originally developed as a
rose garden. In response to strong visitor interest, we plan to
enhance the plantings in this area with flowers that attract
hummingbirds and butterflies. Our vision for this area is to
develop it as a vibrant and colorful flower garden buzzing with
life. A mixture of colorful flowering perennials and shrubs and
fragrant roses will draw visitors and wildlife into the gardens.

| The garden was enhanced this spring with new plantings and a
new redwood fence. The center of the garden space will soon be occupied by our new sculpture created by artist Mark Rivera. This photo was taken shortly after the spring planting. |
A vibrant display of spring flowers truly reflect the red and pink
theme throughout the garden. |

| Looking south through the garden toward the Teen Center. Overgrown, unhealthy roses and a lack of path definition were both major problems. |
